Community Food Drive

St Mark's Church Barriefield is holding a Community Food Drive on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 from 10 am to 1 pm.  All proceeds go to The Partners in Mission Food Bank in Kingston. Please bring your donations (Cash and cheque accepted) for drop off at the church steps.   The address is 268 Main Street, Barriefield/Kingston East, Ontario Items needed are canned meat and fish, peanut butter and jam, canned stews, canned tomatoes, rice, pasta, cereals, tea, coffee, sugar

Child Haven Fundraiser Dinner

Child Haven Dinner Event Join us for an evening of food, dance and stories at the Royal Kingston Curling Club on April 27th at 6pm. Browse our bazaar featuring handicrafts from Nepal before being seated for a delicious Indian meal, served to your table. Our guest speaker, Ganesh Kumar, will share stories of his experience at Child Haven’s Tamid Nadu home. The evening will wrap up with an auction of handicrafts and a chance to try some Bollywood dancing. This is a fundraiser for Child Haven International, which assists children and women in developing countries, who need shelter, food, education, healthcare, and emotional support. Tickets are $40 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. They are available at Novel Idea and at childhaven.ca

Life With A Baby is holding a 50/50 raffle, closing on May 1st.  Help us help parents.   Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), including depression and anxiety, affect 1 in 5 women. Life With A Baby focuses on preventing social isolation–a pivotal precursor to PMADs. We offer activities, events, workshops, support groups, counselling led by mental health professionals, and opportunities to build the village every parent needs to thrive. Your support helps us continue offering these vital services free or low cost to every parent who needs them. trellis.org/healthy-start-raffle  Ticket Bundles are available, 1 for $10, 5 for $20 and 50 for $50.
