June is the time to recognize another deeply rooted part of Canada’s culture through National Indigenous History Month, with National Indigenous Peoples’ Day falling this year on June 21st. To recognize this important time, the Trillium Lakelands DSB Indigenous Student Success Team organized a Pow Wow and Drum Social at Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School in Bracebridge on June 1st, with help from local Indigenous leaders and elders.
