Riverside Drive East will see lane reductions at Devonshire Road for work on a new signalized intersection through July 25. Traffic will be maintained in both directions for the majority of the project, but the right turn lane from Riverside Drive to Devonshire Road southbound will be closed for the duration of the project. A full closure will also take place during final surface asphalt operations, currently scheduled for July 25.
Riverside Drive East will have lane restrictions between Riverdale Avenue and Esdras Place for manhole repairs from Wednesday, July 1 to Tuesday, July 7 from 8:30am to 5pm. Flag persons will be present.
Since late May, the City of Windsor has been providing hand sanitizer on a complimentary basis for area small businesses, as well as not-for-profit, cultural and service organizations. A third round of sanitizer product distribution will occur on Tuesday July 7. Any small business or organization that may have already received an allotment during one of the two previous distributions are welcomed to participate once again. Additionally, any non-profit community, cultural, religious or service groups are also welcome to seek an allotment of sanitizer product next week as the community continues to re-open. While supplies last, and to assist local small businesses and organizations in their Stage 2 re-start efforts, the City of Windsor will provide free hand sanitizer to local groups through a no contact drive-thru at the WFCU Centre on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 9am to 1pm. Drivers are asked to enter through the intersection of McHugh Street and Mickey Renaud Way and then follow the signage to the depot tents. Product on offer is produced to World Health Organization standards and will be made available in 375-millilitre bottles supplied by Highbury Canco in Leamington, up to a maximum of 8 bottles per organization. Depending on turnout, the City of Windsor has enough product available to distribute to at least 625 local groups and businesses next week.
City of Windsor Parks staff will be cutting grass along the E.C. Row Expressway starting Monday, July 6. Cutting will take place on the centre median, roadside shoulders and all on-and-off ramps. Crews will begin at 9am on Monday at Huron Church Road and progress eastward, with rolling lane closures in effect. The work will last until 4pm each day and depending on weather, could last up to three weeks. Motorists are asked to use extra caution and slow down when seeing workers near the roadways.
